The Millionaire Ascetic

Hello, my name is Daniel, and I’m an ascetic who also happens to be a millionaire. I’m running my life as an experiment: to find the minimum amount of money needed to achieve the maximum freedom of an engaging, fulfilling, and purposeful life. I optimize for a life of freedom, not a life of luxury.

My wealth gives me the opportunity to live a more generous life of service, and I hope to inspire others to do the same. I’m currently working part-time at the moment to ensure future benefits like Medicare, so I’m using this blog as a platform for service in the meantime.

I also engage in social commentary, philosophy, and discussions on the accessibility of the FIRE movement. I look at it from the lens of the bottom quartile and bottom decile earner and what it would take for them to reach some level of financial independence.

I am very transparent about my finances and methodology. As someone who values freedom of information and transparency, my works will always be under copyleft terms and hosted on public repositories. This includes any written works, coding projects, and this very website.
